A journey of perseverance

Ripfumelo’s journey in netball began in Grade 3 when she first picked up the sport. Reflecting on her experiences, Ripfumelo shared, ‘I've been playing netball since Foundation Phase. There have been lots of ups and downs, like missing the 2023 netball team selection to attend my late grandfather's funeral. I vowed to make the team and reach my full potential. I can finally say that I have accomplished that, and I've also earned an academic scholarship.’

Ripfumelo expressed gratitude to her coaches throughout the years, including her current coach, Clarissa Gerber, as well as her family and friends for their support. ‘I especially thank my grandfather for always believing in me,’ she added.

Celebrating excellence

School marketer Roxanne Nel concluded, ‘We are incredibly proud of Ripfumelo's accomplishment. Her dedication is an inspiration to all of us at Waterstone College. Well done, Ripfumelo – your future is bright!’
