Tsheamo Mosana represents South Africa at CAF African Schools Championship
05 June 2025Waterstone College learner Tsheamo Mosana recently represented South Africa in the CAF Under-15 African Schools Football Championship, held in Accra, Ghana, from 23 to 26 April 2025. His selection to the national squad marks an important milestone in his football journey and placed him on a continental stage alongside top young athletes from across Africa.

A strong start in Ghana
South Africa opened the tournament with a 2–0 win against Algeria. Tsheamo and his teammates delivered a composed performance that secured early momentum. The squad later faced Ghana and Uganda, suffering narrow defeats that brought their tournament run to an end during the group stage. Ghana edged South Africa 1–0, while Uganda won their match 4–0.
Tanzania went on to win the boys' final in a tense penalty shootout against Senegal. Ghana claimed the girls’ title with a 2–0 win over Uganda.
Making an impression on the international stage
Although South Africa did not advance past the group stage, Tsheamo’s inclusion in the national team and his contribution on the pitch reflect his growing potential as a young footballer. The CAF U-15 African Schools Championship brings together top school players from across the continent and offers invaluable international experience at a formative age.
